RESEARCH SUBMISSION

Buhooth Overview

Welcome to PHCC’s Health Research Institute (PHRI) Research Management System ‘Buhooth’.

PHRI supports the conduct of high-quality, ethical, and scientifically robust health research that contributes to improving patient care, population health, and healthcare services in Qatar. All research conducted under the auspices of PHRI must comply with applicable national laws, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) requirements, and PHRI research governance procedures.

The Buhooth Research Management System has been designed to guide applicants through each stage of the research lifecycle. Through the portal, applicants can submit research applications, track application status, respond to requests for information, and manage ongoing reporting requirements for approved studies.

Before You Submit

Before submitting an application, researchers should first determine whether their proposed activity constitutes research. Where it does, they should identify and submit the appropriate research application for review and approval.

Research involving human participants, identifiable private information, biological samples, surveys, interviews, observations, or access to patient records will generally require review and approval before any research activities commence.

Applicants are encouraged to review the relevant guidance documents before preparing their submission to ensure that the correct application type is selected and all requirements are met.

Types of Application

Buhooth accepts the following application types:

  • Case Reports
  • Non-Human Subject Research (Coming soon)
  • Human Subject Research (Coming soon)
  • Amendments to Human Research (Coming soon)
  • Continuing Review of Human Subject Research (Coming soon)
  • Institutional Support and Commitment Letters (Coming soon)

Application Requirements

Applicants should ensure that all required information and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, and submitted through Buhooth. Incomplete applications or missing information may result in delays to the review and approval process.

The specific information and supporting information and documentation required will vary depending on the study design and application type. Applicants are encouraged to consult the checklist by research application type.

Applicants should carefully review all submission requirements and ensure that the necessary supporting documentation is uploaded as part of their application.
